A noun is a naming word. It is the name given to persons, animals, places or things.
                             
Types of Nouns There are seven (7) main types of Nouns: Proper  nouns Common  nouns                                         Abstract  nouns Concrete  nouns                            Collective  nouns  Countable  nouns  Uncountable  nouns                                Proper Nouns These are particular or specific names given to persons, animals, places or things. Proper nouns are usually written in capital letter when they are used in sentences.                            Examples: Persons: Solomon, Esther, Mark, Deborah etc Animals: Dog, Goat, Fish, Ant, Elephant, Kangaroo, Crocodile, Toad, Lion, Kola, Panda, Eagle etc Places and things: Canada, YouTube, Ferrari, Earth, Orange, Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa, River Jordan, Tuesday, February, Choices Var, Lettuce, English etc                                                         Common Nouns Just like the name "common", they are general names given to persons, animals, places or things. We do not capitalize common nouns when used in sentences.                                      Examples: Persons: King, Queen, Man, Woman, boy, lady, girl, doctor, teacher, president, student, governor etc Animals: Mammal, Pisces, Insect, Reptile, Amphibian, Bird Places and things: Country, App, Car, Planet, Fruit, Mountain, Continent, River, Week, Month, Website, Vegetable, Language etc                                                          Abstract Nouns The names given to things that cannot be seen, touched but can be felt are known as abstract nouns.                                  Examples: Feelings: anger, sadness, silence, happiness, hunger, noise, freedom, generosity, love, democracy, peace etc                               Concrete Nouns Names given to things that can be seen and touched.                                      Examples: Persons: humanbeings  i.e brother, sister, aunty, uncle, nephew, niece, friend, neighbor etc Animals: Dog, goat, monkey, fish, cow, sheep, dolphin, duck, crab, hen etc Places or things: pillow, fan, book, bag, laptop, mobile phone, television, car, pencil, door, blanket, jewelry etc                                                         Collective Nouns These are names given to a particular group of persons, animals, places or things.                                           Examples: Persons: a board of directors, a band of musicians, a cast of actors, an army of soldiers, a class of students, a crew of sailors, a team of players etc Animals: a flock of sheep, a herd of cattle, a pride of lions, a swarm of bees, a school of fishes, a pack of wolves, an ambush of tigers, a flight of birds etc Places and things: a fleet of ship, a bouquet of flowers, a forest of trees, a galaxy of stars, a pack of cards, a bunch of keys etc                                                               Countable Nouns Names given to things that can be numbered using either it's singular or plural form.                                    Examples: Persons: one man, two women, three girls, four ladies, five boys etc Animals: one goat, two crabs, three monkeys, four dogs, five antelopes etc Things: one table, two chairs, three cups, four cars, five apples                                                      Uncountable Nouns Names given to things that cannot be numbered but can be containerized.                                   Examples: Persons: People, Crowd Animals: a kilogram of chicken Things: a bottle of oil, a glass of milk, a bucket of water, a pinch of salt, a packet of sugar, a plate of rice etc

Types of Nouns
There are seven (7) main types of Nouns in English. They are:
  1. Proper  nouns
  2. Common  nouns                                        
  3. Abstract  nouns
  4. Concrete  nouns

  6. Countable  nouns 
  7. Uncountable  nouns 
                              Proper Nouns
